Lecturer (Multiple positions open)

We are looking for lecturers to cover a range of academic and vocational subjects and legal skills to teach for a minimum two year period on the LPC, the GDL and the QLTS. These subjects comprise the foundations of legal knowledge (Contract Law, Tort Law, Criminal Law, Public Law, EU Law, Land Law, the Law of Trusts, English Legal Systems) and LPC modules in Business Law and Practice, Property, Civil and Criminal litigation and legal skills.

You will be based at CLIP’s law school in Dubai, although you should be prepared to travel within the region as required.

You will be expected to:

  • Deliver teaching of the highest standard
  • Update, quality assure and continuously develop teaching and learning materials for use on the programmes
  • Design, develop and quality assure new teaching and learning materials as required to deliver new modules
  • Design and deliver valid and reliable assessments on the programmes
  • Engage with students in both a teaching and pastoral capacity with commitment and enthusiasm
  • Carry out administrative tasks including liaison with our partner law school, external examiners, the SRA and its representatives
  • Mark all assessments within the agreed deadline
  • Demonstrate a clear commitment to equality and diversity and an understanding of what that means in the context of post-graduate vocational legal education
  • Manage and lead various aspects of the programme curriculum and/or extra curricular activity and/or the student enhancement programme
  • Attend formal and informal marketing events with both students and law firms and assist in the preparation of marketing material to develop CLIP’s brand

As the LPC is part of the process for qualifying as a solicitor entitled to practice in England and Wales, applicants should have a minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience as a solicitor or barrister (England and Wales) as well as excellent IT and digital literacy skills. Previous teaching experience delivering undergraduate or vocational legal education is preferred.
